Tomorrow's weather: a few battered showers with fishy intervals. Welcome to The Chipping Forecast.

Adopting a no-frill attitude to its food as well as its interior, the Soho branch is homely, comfortable and here to do one thing; serve the people the nation's favourite dish. So, ketchup, mayo, tartare sauce at the ready!

Fish and chips are the tip of the iceberg here! Get your fish fix with the fish croquettes, king prawn scampi, fish pie or devilled whitebait. For something different, opt for the cheesy crab on chips, crab mac and cheese or cornish crab on toast. They can do classy too! Salmon fishcakes and smoked salmon arancini are certainly more... dainty.

Vegetarians aren't forgotten here! Instead of fish, try the deep-fried halloumi or their superfood salad. Fish lovers and vegetarians alike will be grateful for a pint of something cold to wash it down. With brands like Brewdog IPA on tap as well as bottled beers and wines, who cares if it's a school night! We forecast good times.

Really excellent fish and chips, seafood, and cocktails. Lovely staff and great service. Only gripe being the tartar sauce which lacks the iconic dill pickle flavour and mainly tastes of shallots, maybe bring your own. Thanks to all at the Chipping Forecast for a great meal, WW

We both ordered the cod and chips which were of a very high standard. The cod was beautifully flakey and the chips just perfect. Two sides were also sampled and enjoyed - the Asian slaw and the halloumi.

The cocktails were good for the happy hour price, but my Negroni had just a touch too much Campari and my friend's Dark and Stormy, not enough rum.

I would definitely return early evening for the food. The restaurant is tiny though and the tables very tightly packed. Sit nearer the kitchen if you don't want to feel the draft from the door.
