Tucked beside the tranquil St Dunstan-in-the-East in Tower Hill, Rycrofte’s is a discreet find with a serene, all-day rhythm. The room hums gently beneath a soft wash of light from stained-glass windows, its understated elegance inviting unhurried conversation and the simple pleasure of good food well made.

In the kitchen, classic British flavours are reimagined with a modern touch. Crisp, hot notes meet clean, bright freshness, while slow-cooked richness anchors the plate. Think hand-cut beef tartare followed by slow-braised short rib with roasted shallots, or a British rib eye finished with butter for satisfying depth. Lighter moments arrive in the form of a superfood salad or a perfectly pitched classic salad, proof that simplicity, when done right, sings.

From day to night, the mood shifts from relaxed to radiant. A craving for something indulgent might be met by The Rycofte Burger, and sweet finishes lean wholesome and nostalgic: honey apple tart or a fudgy chocolate brownie. To close, an affogato or an espresso martini keeps the conversation flowing, long after the last forkful.

Make a date with this hidden gem, settle in, and savour the moment. Rycrofte’s is the kind of place where time politely slows its pace- just long enough for one more bite.
