68 & Shanghai oozes the charm of a classic, timeless wine bar. Tucked away on Commercial Street, this al fresco gem sparkles in the golden afternoon sun, offering the perfect spot to sip and soak it all up. Step inside, and you’re welcomed by warm hues and cosy lighting, creating a laid-back yet polished atmosphere, just the ticket for a bit of mingling and socialising.

Spread across two levels, 68 also flaunts an eye-catching vaulted cellar, a snug, intimate underground nook that’s worlds apart from the open doors of the main floor. With a wine list inspired by global flavours, guests can sip their way through over 67 of the world’s finest wine regions, with options by the glass, bottle, or even a tasting flight for those feeling adventurous.

The bar serves an exciting array of small plates. Highlights include green bean tempura with truffle mayo, crispy squid dusted with shichimi togarashi and paired with oriental mayo, and shrimp tempura served with spicy mayo and yuzu. Snacky bites like Maldon sea salted or spicy edamame, sweet potato fries with smokey chilli mayo, and chargrilled Padron peppers are perfect for sharing over a glass or two.

For something a little more substantial, guests can enjoy dishes such as cauliflower karaage with banana ketchup and sriracha, veggie gyoza with butternut squash sauce and sweet soy, or chicken teriyaki skewers finished with sesame seeds. Seafood lovers are well looked after too, with options like yellowtail tiradito with passionfruit ponzu and salmon ceviche with mango, yuzu, and coriander.

Designed to perfectly complement the stellar wine selection, the menu also features indulgent charcuterie and cheese boards, showcasing quality cured meats and standout British cheeses — a firm favourite among the area’s foodies. Ready to treat yourself?
