dinner

Set in East London, Duchy is a wine‑centred address with a quiet confidence. Its extensive list leans into France’s great regions, with a focus on terroir and texture that invites guests to explore classic houses and characterful corners alike.

Bubbles open the show, from the poised Brut NV Louis Nicaise Hautvillers to the fruit‑forward lift of rosé Champagne. Whites then widen the canvas: chardonnay from Burgundy brings richness and voluptuous curves, while savagnin from the Jura speaks of place with a distinct, savoury charm.

Rosé is treated with equal respect, whether as sparkling rosé from Champagne or a still rosé chosen for versatility. Regional curiosities add intrigue, not least jacquère from Savoie with its light, aromatic lines, and a thoughtful spread of chardonnay from Burgundy that spans subtle to complex.

The mood is one of unhurried discovery, with a list that rewards curiosity and conversation. Make an evening of it at Duchy and let East London’s latest pour its heart out, one glass at a time.
