In Canary Wharf, Gallio channels the easygoing spirit of the Eastern Mediterranean into an all-day dining room. The heartbeat is dough, mixed and shaped by hand each morning, then rushed to the table still hot as flatbreads, pitas, pizzas and warm breads made for tearing and sharing. Smooth garlic hummus, cool tzatziki and the scent of oregano and za’atar bring the flavours of the region to East London.
The menu travels across the Eastern Mediterranean, bringing a mix of coastal and comforting flavours to the table. A saffron seafood stew folds white fish, mussels and tiger prawn into a creamy broth lifted with chilli, perfect for scooping with homemade pita. Beef stifado arrives aromatic with spice over soft rice pilaf, while an octopus and sujuk chorizo skewer brings gentle char, smoke and walnut crunch. There is comfort in cheese manakish and onion bazlama, and brightness in an Aegean fattoush layered with herbs and citrus.
