Set in a characterful townhouse on Charlotte Street, Norma brings a slice of Sicilian soul to Fitzrovia. The mood is contemporary yet steeped in the grand café culture of the island, all warm smiles, generous plates and that old-school Italian hospitality London adores. With two AA Rosettes to its name, this is refined cooking delivered with an easy charm.

The kitchen looks south to Sicily and east to its Moorish influences, weaving spice, almonds and sesame into the Italian canon. Think rigatoni alla Norma with aubergine and ricotta salata, black tagliolini laced with Devon crab and a spicy burro bianco, or spaghetti fritters that nod to la dolce vita with a whisper of truffle. Aperitivi might bring padrón peppers dusted with Aleppo pepper and dipped in tahini, while truffle arancini and silky burrata keep things indulgent. For heartier moments, the house Norma parmigiana and slow-cooked beef blade with purple potato purée strike a satisfying chord.

Across three floors, the first two hum with convivial energy, while the top floor offers an intimate private dining space for gatherings. Linger over signature focaccia, a baker’s basket and good conversation as the evening stretches its legs.

Make a date on Charlotte Street and let Sicily’s sun-soaked spirit meet London poise. Book in, settle back, and say salve to your new favourite.
