Motorino brings a quietly confident, ingredient-led sensibility to Fitzrovia, blending Italianate instincts with British pedigree and a few bright global flourishes.

Provenance is worn lightly yet unmistakably: Cornish, Yorkshire, Hereford and Belted Galloway meet Sicilian olive oil and a whisper of sudachi, all steered with an assured, contemporary touch.

Snacks set the tempo with wildfarmed focaccia, rosemary and cultured butter working in chorus, while bruschetta of smoked cod’s roe is lifted by Todoli farm pomelo. Starters play in vivid contrasts: Cornish sardines dart through beetroot and Yorkshire rhubarb with marigold in the wings; bluefin tuna carpaccio finds clarity in corno peppers, capers, coriander and citrus.

Pasta arrives with a sense of place and pleasure. Pappardelle embraces a wildfarmed beef ragù and pecorino, deep and generous. From there, the grill takes charge: a 35-day Hereford flank or 45-day Belted Galloway rib-eye, finished with chianti or peppercorn sauce, and faithful sides such as Pink Fir potatoes with herb butter and porchetta spice, or roasted pumpkin with brown butter and sage.

The result is a meal that moves with ease, from lively bites to lingering mains, paced for conversation and a second bite. Book a table, settle in, and let Motorino take the wheel, it is dining with real drive.
