Slip through the intriguing hidden entrance on Great Titchfield Street and descend to Kave, a magnificent underground hideaway in the heart of Fitzrovia. Ancient vaulted ceilings and timeworn, 200-year-old design touches meet sleek contemporary finishes, setting the scene for a night that blends dining, crafted cocktails and vibrant music. As evening deepens, the energy rises; DJs spin house and dance on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, turning the arches into a late-night playground.

The kitchen leans modern European, with an elegant mix of shared plates and refined mains. Start with a four-cheese filo pastry brushed with honey and sesame, or sautéed prawns brightened by seaweed. Then settle into char-grilled salmon with asparagus and avocado tartare, or a tender beef fillet served with carrots, new potatoes and pepper sauce. Sides keep things comforting, from sweet potato fries to creamed spinach.

To finish, think citrus and silk: lemon crumble dotted with berries and lime, or a deeply indulgent chocolate mousse layered with cacao and chocolate chips. Whether you are here for a lingering supper or to segue into the small hours, Kave delivers a chic, celebratory mood beneath the city streets. Find the hidden door, take your seat under the vaults, and let the night do the talking.
