In the heart of Covent Garden, The Black Penny is a modern retreat with industrial-chic bones and cosy corners.

By day, the clink of cups and the aroma of freshly pulled espresso set an easy rhythm, welcoming locals and visitors to gather over wholesome dishes. As evening falls, the lights soften, conversations flow, and the space shifts into a relaxed den for small plates and speciality drinks.

The kitchen roams with confidence across brunch comforts and bistro staples, lacing them with Mediterranean nods. Think butterbean hummus bright with lemon and sumac, or crispy sujuk cooled by mint yoghurt, honey and dill. For heartier appetites, there is braised lamb shoulder on creamy mash with mushrooms and baby onions, or a flat iron steak with skin-on fries and a choice of peppercorn or béarnaise.

Lighter bites and vibrant salads keep things fresh, while desserts lean indulgent: a burnt Basque cheesecake with berry compote, or a warm Belgian dark and milk chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.

Whether dropping in for Ozdemir Pasha, Green Eggs, or simply a quality coffee, The Black Penny Covent Garden makes lingering irresistible. Pull up a chair and make a moment of it - your next favourite ritual's a sip away!
