lunch

Tucked inside the Middle Eight Hotel, Sycamore Covent Garden brings an authentic Italian restaurant and bar to the heart of London’s theatreland. The mood is relaxed yet stylish, with a sociable rhythm that encourages sharing, conversation and lingering a little longer than planned.

The kitchen leans into contemporary Italian flavours with generous plates made to pass around. Think tomato bruschetta and fritto misto to open, followed by mushroom and truffle arancini or king prawn skewers. Pasta comes with substance and silk, from slow cooked beef and caramelised onion pappardelle to black truffle and ricotta ravioli, while mains span the Sycamore Smash Burger and pan-seared sea bass. Pizza keeps things classic and craveable, from margherita to spicy salami, alongside bright salads like goat cheese and superfood, and sides of thin fries or roasted cauliflower.

Energy builds as the week gathers pace; from Thursday to Saturday, DJ nights spin live vinyl and Italian disco beats, amplifying the restaurant’s social, contemporary spirit. It is the sort of room where a second round feels inevitable and the table order grows happily with it.

For those seeking Italian plates with a London pulse, Sycamore sets the tempo. Book a table, bring good company, and let the vinyl do the heavy lifting while the plates keep coming.
