La Petite Mort Edinburgh

Cuisine: A La Carte, Artisan, Scottish
Price Point: Mains from £10-£20

Join La Petite Mort in toasting the finest of Scotland’s artisan producers in a relaxed yet refined setting right next door to the King’s Theatre.

Moodily-lit interiors lend themselves to lingering over a craft cocktail or three, while a knowledgeable front of house team will encourage you to feel right at home.

Head chef Neil Connor brings his unique spin and foodie flare to locally sourced produce with a healthy respect for the classics. Seasonally inspired, their menus are consistently changing meaning there’s something new to get excited about every time you return (and believe us, return you will!).

Recent crowd-pleasers have included lemon sole with fennel and tarragon, crab mascarpone and chive parcels and decadent dark chocolate delice served with a generous scoop of nutella ice cream.

Those looking for a quality libation will be me more than satisfied with La Petite Mort’s offering. Cocktails flow-freely into the early hours, there is an excellent selection of craft beers and an extensive wine list.

This is cool, contemporary dining at its very best. Beg, borrow or steal a table!

Had never heard of this place before but will be telling friends they must go. Great food bit different from standard menus, taste and presentation very good. Service was first rate attentive but not overbearing. Would certainly return in the near future

Truelly fantastic, lovely ambience on arrival and through out the meal, front of house were attentive however not intrusive. They were informative, happy to help or make suggestions, and not looking to upsell food or drinks you didn't really want. We had 3 courses of faultless tasting and presented food, and the bill at the end made me feel that I was not only getting outstanding value, but we were getting far to good an experience for what we were paying. The only negative I could say, was on our part, my wife and I lived local for years and never once popped in, and for what we have missed out on we can only regret. For the price I guarantee you will not get many if not any better restraunts in edinburgh, let alone city centre. We will definitely go back, sooner rather than later.

Super creative menu with amazing ingredients that were so fresh and flavorful. We had two apps, two starters, and split the creme brule which was to die for. Laid back and wonderful atmosphere and great service.
