In the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, Dublin St Social is a neighbourhood haunt made for lingering: small plates to share, good wine to sip, and better company to savour. Warm and unpretentious, it champions heartfelt hospitality and an easygoing rhythm that invites conversation as much as it does another glass.

The kitchen leans into bold yet balanced flavours. Think barbeque monkfish tacos lifted with sesame oil and black garlic mayo, or pan seared scallops finding harmony with green apple purée, Stornoway black pudding and crispy sage. For something more substantial, an 8 oz Scotch sirloin arrives with chips, broccoli and garlicky buttered richness, while a BBQ loin of Fife venison plays against roasted corn purée, crispy potatoes and bright chimichurri. Indulgent sides — halloumi fries with pomegranate molasses, parmesan and truffle fries — pave the way to desserts like dark chocolate mousse or coconut panna cotta with tropical bite.

The drinks list keeps pace, from fine wines to a pitch-perfect espresso martini or classic margarita. A weekly quiz night adds friendly competition, and Ollie’s — the lively bar under the same roof, complete with live music and a golf simulator — helps the evening stretch on.

Pull up a chair, share a few plates, and let the good times do the talking. Go on — be sociable.
