Cuisine: A La Carte, European, Scottish
Price Point: Mains from £10-£25

Step inside this cosy independent bistro and get stuck into a feast of European comfort classics.

This is the sort of restaurant that lends itself as well to intimate dinners with friends as it does to date night. Think dim lighting and rustic wooden furniture, flickering candles and chalkboards that show a daily changing roster of mouthwatering specials.

Start your meal with the likes of French onion soup or haggis croquettes before moving on to hearty mains such as steak, roast venison haunch and slow-cooked pork belly.

There is also a dedicated skewers menu that makes a light main or tasty sharing starter. We love the roast halloumi and sweet potato option, which comes with flatbread and your choice of side (garlicky fries, please!)

The carefully-curated wine list is the perfect accompaniment to your meal. Think European favourites as well as a few international surprises, such as a delicious red from Uruguay.

Atmosphere, food and service… The Apartment has everything you need for a memorable evening out.

Dining at The Apartment, in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh, was an absolute pleasure and was made all the better thanks to First Table.
The ease of booking through First Table’s website was note-worthy whilst the food at The Apartment was delicious. Highlights being the Haggis croquettes rolled in panko breadcrumbs and deep fried. The drinks menu was extensive, yet refined, with fantastic cocktails and absolutely brilliant wine (we had a bottle of one of the white bin ends on offer, a tasty organic from Spain).
The service, however, was the crowning jewel at The Apartment. We felt beyond welcome and comfortable in a beautifully decorated setting, which led to us dining for nearly three hours.
Would highly recommend to all on First Table.

Although the Apartment has been in business for 20 years, this was our first visit. Great choices, generous portions, well presented food and friendly service. My French onion soup and Morrocan lamb skewer were both excellent. WE'll be back!
