Jules Verne is an authentic French getaway in the middle of Scotland's trendy capital.

A French brasserie through and through, it's friendly, cosy and most importantly, serves outstanding grub. It boasts a bright, spacious dining area that comes fully equipped with comfy booths and friendly staff. If it's a nice day, venture onto the patio and watch the busy world go by.

Kickstart your flavour adventure with their salmon tartar or sautéed pigeon breast. For mains, try something off the beaten track, like their guinea fowl fillet or venison stew. Alternatively, keep it classic with their unbeatable steak or dug leg confit. And vegetarians will love their sweet potato and courgette lasagna.

You can be sure of excellent wine at any French brasserie and Jules Verne is no exception. Be sure to check out their cocktails and Bellini's; they'll add all the necessary sparkle.

great atmosphere, great service, fantastic food. premium french food with the best local ingredients without compromising the price of quality. they indulged me in bringing a birthday cake in to celebrate and allowed me to light the candles and made it a special time for us. will definitely go again!

Food was fantastic and service was really good - we could even bring our dog inside if we wanted to. The outdoor seats didn't get the sun in the evening but that is hardly the restaurant's fault.

Great experience!

A lovely wee French brasserie hiding at the top of Leith Walk . The menu is quite small, but it means what they do do, they do right.
The mains were well presented and a good size. The staff were friendly and courteous. Overall delicious food and good value for money.

Our meal was amazing value - especially as we were dining off the set menu - and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was very good, we both enjoyed the mushroom and asparagus risotto, and my pear and almond tart was delicious. The only part I wasn't that keen on was the bruschetta, simply because it was more like cheese on toast than the typical bruschetta I was expecting! The service was very attentive, and the atmosphere was good, even with us being the first in the restaurant. All in all a lovely meal.
