Prezzo Italian brings a warm, welcoming spirit to Cardiff Central, with an interior that nods to Italian culinary traditions. The kitchen leans on fresh, seasonal ingredients to create vibrant, authentic flavours, the kind that invite lingering conversation and a second forkful.

Starters set the tone with simple pleasures — toasted ciabatta tumbled with tomatoes and red onion, or garlicky dough made for sharing — before giving way to pizzas and pasta that favour comfort over fuss. Think classic sauces, bubbling mozzarella and bowls of spaghetti from carbonara to a beef ragù in tomato.

Folded calzones arrive generously filled with cheese, meat and vegetables, while the grill offers a change of pace with house burgers. Crisp sides and fresh salads keep things lively, and desserts strike a familiar chord: tiramisu alongside a rich chocolate fudge cake with caramel sauce. An espresso or cappuccino brings a neat Italian finish.

Equally suited to easygoing suppers and special occasions, this is a Cardiff spot made for relaxed good times. Book a table, bring an appetite and make it a slice of la dolce vita.
