The Head of Steam Cardiff

On Church Street in central Cardiff, The Head of Steam buzzes with easy-going energy. A short stroll from Principality Stadium, it's a natural rendezvous for pre-event suppers and post-show gatherings.

Behind the bar, a thoughtful line-up of refreshing drinks takes centre stage.

In the kitchen, familiar comforts meet sociable, street-food flair. Think pizzas from Margherita purity to pepperoni bite, smash burgers stacked with classic toppings, and gyros folded with chicken shawarma or falafel.

Fries come generously loaded, whether garlicky with shawarma or tangy with buffalo chicken and ranch, while nachos and chilli cheese bites invite sharing. Wings - chicken or cauli - keep the energy high, with sweet potato and skin-on options on standby.

The mood's as vibrant as the menu. Live music and DJ sets collide with pub quizzes, while shuffleboard and pool add a playful competitive edge. It's the kind of place that suits after-work catch-ups as readily as weekend celebrations, a hub where locals gather to graze, unwind and stay a little longer.

Drop in for a slice before the big event - bring your crew and let the good times take the lead!
