Qamariyah brings the sun‑warmed flavours of Yemen to Adamsdown, weaving spice, smoke, and comfort into a Cardiff day well spent.

Its cooking leans into tradition: dishes that are fragrant rather than flashy, generous rather than fussy, and grounded in the simple pleasure of bread torn, rice fluffed, and tea poured.

Mornings are a particular joy. Shakshouka arrives with eggs nestled in tomatoes, vegetables, spices, and a flicker of heat from spicy peppers, while foul brings the comfort of fava beans simmered with vegetables and spice.

For a true spread, the full Yemeni breakfast deal lets diners mix a meat choice with two traditional plates, perhaps eggs with cheese, fowl, or shakshouka.

Expect an unhurried rhythm and cooking that speaks for itself: aromatic, homely, and quietly celebratory. Follow the bread crumbs to Qamariyah and let breakfast, lunch, or dinner do the talking.
