dinner

One Fish Street brings its Cornish soul to Redland, Bristol, with a family-run warmth that has shaped it since 2019. The ethos is refreshingly simple: relaxed, friendly service and food that lets pristine ingredients speak.

Small and intimate, the space centres on an open kitchen where guests can chat to the chefs as they cook. It becomes an inviting theatre of flame and finesse: the scent of the sea, the gloss of butter, the hiss of the grill. Early bites such as Coombeshead Farm sourdough with whipped Marmite butter set the tone, bridging rustic comfort and chefly craft.

The menu is a modern British love letter to seafood, with Cornish roots and global accents. Oysters arrive raw with shallot mignonette or grilled with crispy chilli oil. Larger plates show deft balance and clean, resonant flavours: hand-dived scallops glossed in potted brown shrimp butter, or roasted hake with masala sauce and smoked yoghurt.

For those seeking ease without artifice, this is the spot: intimate, generous, and quietly confident. Pull up a chair, settle in by the pass, and let the tide of good times roll.
