Moored on Bristol’s historic harbour, Under the Stars is a floating Mediterranean tapas restaurant that has charmed Central Bristol since 2010. Inside, rich wood and Hague blue create an inviting glow, lifted by mustard yellow accents, while the spacious top deck offers year-round outdoor dining with a scenic waterside view. The setting nods to the city’s maritime heritage yet feels thoroughly contemporary.

The kitchen leans into sun-soaked flavours and relaxed sharing, with smoky, citrus, and herb notes drifting from the galley. Options range from chorizo oreado alongside plump gambas to a well-seared bistec and the clean brightness of pan-fried sea bream. The pizza oven turns out crisp bases topped simply and well, from a classic margherita to a savoury Serrano ham pizza.

Vegetarians are well looked after with oozy baked camembert or a punchy smoky harissa cauliflower. For dessert, there's a white chocolate and cherry brownie or a fragrant blood orange almond cake.

Climb aboard for lunch or supper, take in the view, and let the conversation flow. Set a course for Central Bristol and let the evening set sail.
