In the heart of central Bristol, Izakaya x Yakiniku brings the theatre of Japanese grilling to the table. Built-in grills take centre stage, turning dinner into an engaging ritual where guests cook, season and savour at their own pace. It is convivial and hands-on, the kind of place where laughter lifts with the smoke-kissed aroma and date nights and group catch-ups unfold over a gentle sizzle.

The menu leans into quality and variety, inviting diners to curate their feast. Think sliced ribeye and beef chuck flap tail, or honey soy short ribs for a glossy, caramel-leaning finish. Teriyaki chicken and spicy chicken add balance and bite, and vegetarians are well served with an assorted mushroom set and an abundant vegetable selection of mushrooms, bell pepper, courgette, pumpkin and asparagus.

Small plates such as chicken karaage or squid karaage keep the tempo lively, with kaiso salad and miso soup to refresh between turns of the tongs. Combo sets make sharing effortless, whether mixing beef and chicken or a yakiniku selection with king prawn and pork belly. Lively, flavourful and reassuringly social, this is dining designed to bring people together.

Ready to take the tongs? Book a table, gather your favourites, and let the sizzle do the talking.
