Need in Seaford is designed for unrushed moments: the sort of spot where the kettle hums, conversation lingers, and the sea breeze always seems to set the mood inside.

Just 100 metres from the beach and around the corner from Seaford train station, Need is the first bricks-and-mortar chapter for Jack and Natalie’s Need Coffee Bar and Kitchen. Whether you are fresh from the shoreline or stepping off the train, settle into a calm, coastal rhythm.

The menu leans into comforting, flavour-forward brunch plates with a gentle global accent. Think shakshuka, with eggs baked in tomato, feta and fresh herbs, scooped up with toasted sourdough. It is the kind of dish that asks you to slow down and savour.

Those in search of something heartier will find the full Need, a generous spread of butcher's sausage, bacon, confit tomatoes, potato hash, egg, mushrooms, toast and beans. Extras like hashbrown bites or an additional butcher's sausage make it bespoke to the morning at hand.

Sweets are every bit as considered: stem ginger banana bread arrives with orange zest chantilly and caramel, while American style pancakes stack with bacon and apple compote maple syrup.

Book in, take a breath, and let good coffee do what it does best: work its quiet magic.
