Rockwater - Bar and Kitchen brings Hove’s shoreline into sharp, sunlit focus. Perched by the water, it is a sociable, all‑day haven where mornings begin with sea air and stretch into lively evenings. From yoga and swims to workshops, comedy, live music and cocktails, it has the easy rhythm of a beachside home: relaxed, welcoming and ready whatever the weather.

The cooking leans into coastal British comfort with a polished touch. A British rock oyster with shallot vinegar and lemon sets a briny tone, while warm sourdough arrives with whipped roasted garlic and rosemary butter and a pinch of Maldon salt. Starters balance indulgence and freshness, from crab and cheese beignets powered by South Coast crab and Westcombe cheddar to venison carpaccio brightened by pickled shimeji mushrooms and blackcurrant dressing.

Heftier plates keep things familiar yet finely tuned: the Rockwater beef burger layers dry‑aged richness with smoked cheddar, onion jam and crisp fries, and a sirloin steak comes crowned with Café de Paris butter and a tangle of watercress. To finish, think sticky toffee parkin pudding with toffee shards and salted caramel ice cream, or a dark chocolate ganache studded with honeycomb and hazelnut praline. Settle in by the shore, raise a glass, and let the tide of good times roll.
