breakfast

In Norwich City Centre, Urban Lounge is the kind of brunch and coffee haunt that sets the tone for the day. Dog-friendly and effortlessly stylish, it pairs a curated, all-day brunch offering with custom coffee blends and a considered line-up of cocktails. The mood is electric yet easy-going, the sort of energy that keeps conversations buzzing from morning onwards.

The kitchen leans into bold, feel-good flavours, uplifting British comfort with a few globe-trotting flourishes. Think buttermilk fried chicken tucked into a soft bun with slaw and smoked paprika mayonnaise, a proper fry-up on sourdough, and fluffy pancakes with bacon, eggs and maple. There are street-food nods in a breakfast gyros with harissa ketchup, buttered flatbread layered with whipped feta, fried halloumi and honey, and avocado with smoked salmon on toasted sourdough. Crispy cajun potatoes and loaded hash browns add that irresistible, golden crunch.

Sweet-toothed diners will find warm Nutella with bruleed banana, toasted hazelnuts and strawberries hard to ignore, while fried chicken with honeycomb and a berry drizzle strikes a playful sweet-savoury chord. With bespoke coffee blends poured all day and cocktails on hand, Urban Lounge invites long, lazy catch-ups and spur-of-the-moment pit stops. A city-centre go-to for brunch done with swagger, it is one to pencil in for the next outing — paws welcome and weekends made.
