Nestled beneath the soaring spire of a beautifully restored Grade II-listed church in Gateshead, Café Under The Spire offers a truly distinctive dining experience.

The menu is versatile, catering from early brunch through to evening meals and a traditional Sunday roast. At lunchtime, the offerings shift to comfort classics such as toasties, including the popular triple cheese and onion, roast meat rolls, cheesy or vegan-cheesy chips, and salads like the autumn kale salad or spire lamb salad.

The evening menu features hearty dishes including burgers (with vegan options), a selection of roast chicken preparations served with twice-cooked chips, and rustic 8-inch pizzas where diners can pick their own toppings. On Sundays between 12 pm and 4 pm, the café serves a full Sunday lunch with choices such as roast lamb, beef, chicken, pork, or a vegan nut roast.

Dessert lovers can indulge in treats like chocolate fudge cake, red velvet cheesecake, vegan lemon sponge, or vegan cheesecake, paired perfectly with Italian ice cream.

Café Under The Spire combines hearty, home-style cooking with a charming setting, making it an ideal spot for everything from a relaxed brunch to a cosy evening meal.
