What started as a Saturday night pop-up in the city quickly became a fully-fledged British institution, showcasing the finest Ramen from all around Japan. Over a decade on and Tonkotsu has branches in London and beyond. Their newest addition is in Clapham which is serving all the rustic warmth that makes these ramen restaurants so special. Come as you are and slurp your way through your evening; stained faces are very much encouraged. Indeed, it's seen as a great compliment to the chef in Japanese culture!

But what exactly makes Tonkotsu's ramen so special? With recipes that have been developed over decades and a pair at the helm who have worked tirelessly to achieve delicious, epic flavour, Emma and Ken are proud to be the tastebuds behind some of London's best ramen. The menu includes all kinds of rich and meaty broths, from pork to chicken and vegetables. They're heralding classic combinations as well as going off script to create the Tokyo with soy sauce and marinated pork belly, the signature Tonkostu and vegan editions that boast all the same flavour as their meaty comrades.

Add some extra nibbles on the side whilst you're at it. Ramen is smooth for the most part, so juxtapose these textures with some homemade kimchi, spiced cauliflower wings or karaage chicken.
