Cuisine: South American, Vegan, Venezuelan
Price Point: Mains from £10-£20

It’s not every day you come across a Venezuelan restaurant. That’s where Arepa and Co comes in, serving London something a bit different.

Just five minutes from Haggerston Overground station is this little restaurant that has personality oozing from every corner and crevice. Menus are written on the walls in chalk and the different coloured chairs and playful hammocks make everything that little bit more fun.

Whether you opt for Arepas (cornbread with a tasty filling), Cachapas (pancakes with equally tasty fillings) or a traditional rice bowl, it’s always delicious and filling. Take your pick of fillings for your Arepa, from shredded beef with beans and cheese chicken thighs with avocado.

The Cachapas have similar fillings on offer, as well as veggie options like roast veg and goats cheese or black beans and plantain. Alternatively, fill your boots with a mound of rice with their various toppings, like beef, chicken, black beans and palm hearts.

Arepa & co is an amazing restaurant!
This is the place my friends and I chose to have our weekly reunion, and we come from different parts of London, it is not close for any of us but totally worth it. This is basically our weekly reward!

The atmosphere is great, the bartenders apart of beautiful people are very sociable and caring. WE really enjoy the service here.

The food is, what can I say rather than I am waiting for our next week meeting to have more!
Portions are just perfect and Yummy!
If you have the chance try the tequenos!

Lovely view of the canal, great service, food and drinks. The only slight negative is we weren't asked if we wanted more drinks/dessert so didn't have as much as we would have liked!

Love the area! An area that doesn't felt like you are in London, it is a good experience.

Good is fantastic, we really enjoyed the Yuca chips and the corn traditional pancake. Worth trying them : )

Have been before but only for brunch. Great value both for food and also happy hour drinks. All staff were extremely friendly for myself, wife, mother in law and our baby! We'll be back.

Came here on a Wednesday night around 6pm, the place was empty besides myself and my partner and another couple. Gorgeous setting by the canal and lovely looking restaurant, however, that was about the only real positive. The service was pretty terrible, we were constantly having to call them over to make our orders, which considering the restaurant was pretty empty is super disappointing. The food was nice enough, we had the palm heart salad, which was ok, really just a standard salad, the Mariana arepas which I really enjoyed, was the best dish we had, pastelitos which were tasty and the corn dough with herbs, spices, chilli and goats cheese, which sounded delicious but unfortunately was so awful we took one mouthful and didn't eat the rest. We don't plan to return.

Loved being able to see the canal river from our table. Small and vibrant place with great food and service. We really enjoyed our meal here and would come back again.
