Sotto Cucina & Bar is an underground Sicilian kitchen and bar in the bustling heart of Aldgate, London, just steps from the streets of Whitechapel. Bringing a confident slice of Italy to the city, Sotto blends regional Sicilian tradition with contemporary flair, offering bold flavours, vibrant textures, and authentic ingredients in every dish.

The menu celebrates the depth of Sicilian cuisine. Enjoy the sweet-savoury hush of caponata, studded with pine nuts and raisins, or affettati highlighting Cobble Lane London cured meats. Pizza alla pala adds a playful counterpoint: light, airy flatbreads, with margherita anchored by San Marzano DOP tomato and basil, or capricciosa layering mozzarella, ham, mushroom, artichoke, and olives. Pasta and larger plates continue the journey, with spaghetti aglio e olio ca’ muddica twirling through garlic, extra virgin olive oil, chilli, and parsley breadcrumbs, and tagliata di manzo showcasing 35-day-aged beef sirloin with baby peppers and a drizzle of Etna olive oil.

The restaurant itself mirrors the vibrancy of the cuisine. Every corner of Sotto Cucina & Bar is designed to encourage leisurely dining, good company, and a genuine taste of Sicily in the heart of East London.
