Priding itself in serving up some of the most authentic Indian plates in Old Street, Bengal Tiger is more than just a night out; it's an experience.

Smart, modern and not afraid to indulge their playful side, Bengal Tiger is a roaring success in this fashionable pocket of London. Be sure to pull out your glad rags for this one. Here, the tables are dressed to the nines with crisp, white tablecloths and are accompanied by elegant leather seating. The surroundings themselves are opulent with giant artworks commanding the attention of any given room, cascading lighting that adds an irresistible sparkle, and even art on the ceiling that recalls the grand cathedrals around Europe. Completely immersive and a treat for all the senses, Bengal Tiger is where you go to mark any special occasion.

What marks this restaurant out from the rest is its approach to food. The kitchen prepares everything from scratch, using only the best, freshest ingredients available. Their curries are inimitable and make full use of the tandoor for the chicken malai tikka, lamb shashlik, king prawn pathia and paneer tikka. They also pride themselves on perfecting the classics, like sag, madras, vindaloo and bhuna, all of which can be customised with chicken or lamb.

As for the adventure seekers, you'll love the chef specials. Experience and expertise inform the garlic chilli chicken, king prawn Malabar, grilled seabass and duck jalfrezi amongst others. Finally, raise a glass - be that an ice-cold beer or signature cocktail - and toast the only Indian you need to know about in London's east end.
