‘Wala’ is an Indian term used to describe a merchant of the finest produce; need we say more?

In keeping with its delectable plates, the restaurant has earnt its place in Soho Courthouse hotel, a five-star establishment in Mayfair. The interior may surprise you with its informal, almost bistro feel. Mismatching purple chairs and hanging birdcages make this a bright and friendly spot.

The food menu takes the very best of Indian street food and adds that something special, as well as some unconventional ingredients. It’s not every day that you can say you’ve eaten crispy lotus root or yuzu infused stone bass! Even the classics are given star treatment, with clay ovens ensuring they pack the right punch.

The drinks menu is perhaps longer than its foodie counterpart. With a concise selection of wines, champagne and beers, emphasis is placed on the various gins, brandies and whiskies on offer. Question is, which one will whisk-y you away?
