Just off Leicester Square, Asador Bar & Grill channels the spirit of the asado, celebrating smoke, char and the pleasures of unhurried cooking.

Steaks and slow-roasted cuts anchor the offering, while chimichurri threads through the menu with a bright, herbaceous lift. It is a kitchen that balances rugged grill work with refined touches, all in service of bold, satisfying flavours.

Starters set the tone with calamari, crisp and tender against a chilli-coriander sauce, brightened by lemon and green leaf. For something more indulgent, the truffle beef carpaccio layers pepper-crushed beef fillet with parmesan balsamic glaze, a flicker of chimichurri, rocket and truffle mayo.

Mains lean into comfort and craft: Argentinian BBQ chicken arrives chargrilled with a smoky, sweet glaze, mashed potatoes and generous chimichurri sauce. The slow-roasted lamb rack pairs sweet potato puree, roasted tomato, sautéed oyster mushrooms and gravy sauce.

Classic cuts are well represented with a 10oz ribeye steak and an 8oz fillet steak (sliced), while the burger selection ranges from a chicken burger to a chimichurri burger with melted cheese, glazed onion, gherkins and roasted tomato sauce.

The experience is all about honest grilling and convivial dining, where the sizzle takes centre stage and conversation follows. It is the sort of place that invites diners to make a date, bring an appetite, and let the fire-kissed flavours lead them merrily astray.
