dinner

Himalayan Dine Barrhead brings the fragrant soul of Indian and Nepalese cooking to Barrhead, Glasgow, run by a family behind two sister restaurants. Guests are welcomed into a warm, well-organised setting where freshness leads every plate and the emphasis is firmly on the art of cooking.

From the tandoor come glowing skewers of chicken tikka and charred lamb chops, while slow-simmered sauces deliver comfort in classics like butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Lighter beginnings set the tone: chicken pakora crisp from the fryer, and chicken 65 sparked with ginger, garlic, curry leaves and dried chilli. For sharing, poppadoms with spiced onions, mango chutney and cooling raita invite diners to dip in and linger.

The atmosphere is friendly and unhurried, with attentive service and a sense that every detail has been thought through. It is a place for gathering, for trying something new, and for making those easy, memorable moments over food made with care and good ingredients.

Book ahead, bring an appetite, and come taste the difference—your next favourite spot might just be hiding in plain sight.
