In the heart of Stockbridge, Franco Manca – Edinburgh Stockbridge leans into the simple pleasures of Italian-leaning cooking, with a clear love for sourdough pizza and the things that belong beside it. The table often begins with mixed olives or Tarakali, before moving to sharing platters that invite a linger. New Antipasti gathers mozzarella, grilled artichoke, butternut squash, Kalamata olives, and baby plum and semi-dried tomatoes with sourdough bread; charcuterie brings a selection of cured Italian meats, rocket and Franco's Grana, also with warm slices for dipping and tearing.

Pizzas take centre stage, naturally: the classic Margherita is a study in balance, while Prosciutto e Funghi pairs roasted cured ham with wild mushrooms for something deeper and savoury.

For lighter moments, there is an artichoke and butternut squash salad or a neatly composed Caprese, each keeping the focus on ripeness and texture. To finish, tiramisu or cheesecake offers a soft landing, while the bar keeps things timeless with an Aperol Spritz or a perfectly stirred Negroni.

It is the kind of place where conversation finds its rhythm as slices disappear and plates are shared, an easy-going meal shaped by good ingredients and a clear point of view. Plan an unhurried evening of pizza and a spritz, and let Stockbridge’s newest slice of la dolce vita do the rest.
