In the cobbled heart of Edinburgh Old Town, Commons Club channels the city’s romance with Scottish fare served with international flair. A beautifully designed setting frames the evening, while the bar mixes creative cocktails for lingering conversations and celebratory toasts.

The kitchen roams Scotland’s larder with confidence: oysters brightened by raspberry vinegar and lemon, and John Gilmour beef tartare warmed by bone marrow with a tarragon-truffle emulsion. There is wit in crab fishcake bon bon with Maris Piper potatoes and remoulade, and in Campbells haggis croquettes crowned with Monkey Shoulder whisky air, whipped mash potatoes and turnip chips.

From the grill, ribeye shares the stage with Beef Wellington for two, prime rib on the bone and porterhouse, while from the sea come Scottish king scallops and Scottish lobster, half or whole. Classics are reimagined, from a house rendition of fish and chips to a wagyu burger on a homemade brioche bun with beef tomatoes, truffle mayo and fries, with peppercorn and whisky or red wine jus alongside. Skinny fries and garlic mash potatoes invite indulgence, as does a chocolate fondant with saffron and whisky ice cream or a Scottish cheese plate with apricot gel, oat cakes and crackers.

For those seeking the epitome of romantic, Old Town Edinburgh, Commons Club promises the best bites in Scotland, poured and plated with polish. Settle in, order a cocktail, and let the evening roam; book a date and make it a Commons occurrence.
