Once an asylum and later home to the European Council of Ministers, this unique building in Edinburgh’s Old Town is now the stylish Hotel du Vin, featuring beautiful, atmospheric interiors and an impressive drinks collection. Bistro du Vin, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, offers à la carte dining in simple yet elegant surroundings.

The cuisine is classic French bistro, driven by local and seasonal ingredients. Savour robust and flavourful dishes such as moules marinières and steaks, alongside Scottish favourites like Cullen skink and cranachan.

If you're in the mood to graze, the venue offers a wide variety of hors d'oeuvres and cheese boards made for sharing. Pair these delicious bites with your choice of cocktail or wine, and you've got yourself the perfect sophisticated treat.

With several dining rooms and a large central space ideal for semi-private gatherings, Bistro du Vin delivers on memorable dining experiences. The cheerful hum of happy diners is all part of the charm in this relaxed, characterful spot in the heart of Edinburgh.
