Franco Manca Cambridge brings the spirit of the Italian pizzeria to the historic old town near the university and the River Cam. The welcome is warm, the air scented with freshly baked sourdough, and the room hums with an easy rhythm. Rustic textures and a friendly bustle set the tone for relaxed gatherings.

On the plate, sourdough pizza is the star: a classic margherita lets ripe tomato and mozzarella shine, while prosciutto and funghi leans savoury and earthy. Begin with things made for sharing, from a caprese with burrata, vine and baby plum tomatoes and basil pesto to a charcuterie platter of Italian cured meats and marinated vegetables. Simple comforts appear as rosemary and garlic pizza bread or slices with a tomato base, and salads keep things bright with Mediterranean notes or yellowfin tuna, olives and capers.

As the afternoon drifts towards evening, an Aperol Spritz sets a sunny tone, while homemade organic lemonade refreshes. Italian wines pour by the glass or bottle, and cocktails run from a bittersweet Negroni to a tequila margarita. To finish, choose affogato or a baked cheesecake with cherries.

Settle in before a post-lunch cruise on the Cam; Franco Manca Cambridge invites lingering. Book a table, follow your nose, and let the dough steal the show.
