The Pelican

Having served the local community of Chew Magna for over 400 years, The Pelican, named after the famous ship, provides a luxurious and vibrant social experience. Renovated and run by lifelong friends and siblings, the establishment is steeped in rich history and imbued with community roots.

Step inside and one is welcomed by a cosy and elegant setting that includes a barn, bar, and courtyard. Comfort and intimacy are central to The Pelican's ethos. With plans to offer comfortable on-site accommodations starting in May 2025, it aims to be more than just a place to socialise. A wood-fired pizza truck will soon serve in the evenings.

Named after its locally sourced game-dinner heroes, the venison and wild duck pies are recommended. The menu also features fresh and light dishes such as creamy wild boar pâté and spaghetti with venison meatballs. Traditional pub options are also available.
