In the heart of the iconic Brighton Lanes is Gars Chinese Restaurant, celebrating local and Chinese culture through a fusion of tradition and innovation.

Gars has been an institution since 1983, combining contemporary decor with a traditional twist, creating an ambience perfect for any occasion. A family-run business, Gars prioritises creating a keepsake alongside their extensive menu, offering a unique dining experience for all in a divine location.

As is customary in Chinese culture, sharing is caring. From traditional starters such as seaweed and satay chicken to barbeque ribs and grilled pork dumplings, Gars will satisfy your cravings in style. Smoothly move into the mains, picking various plates to share, including sizzling chicken with yellow bean sauce, cashew nuts, and Cantonese roast duck.

Fish it up with sizzling king prawns, or opt for the fillet of seabass steamed in ginger and soy. Their fresh vegetables range from bean sprouts in garlic to Chinese mushrooms and bamboo shoots. They’ve even got sizzling tofu in various sauces. Take a trip to the Orient with a plate of Cantonese roast meat, nasi lemak, and more.

In the heart of East Sussex, Gars offers an authentic and unforgettable Chinese experience unlike anywhere else in the area. Book into Gars for all occasions, big or small, private or personal—let their staff create an experience to cherish and enhance their culinary expertise. A warm welcome awaits you at Gars, where friendly service and comfortable seating are guaranteed every time you visit.
