On a charming corner of The Lanes in Brighton, Lost in the Lanes restaurant sits quietly; chic, understated, and a bit, well, lost. But this is no accident. The purposeful name was chosen to represent the owners' main ambition: to create a chef-led restaurant in which everyone felt welcome.
You don’t often come across a small, independent restaurant in Brighton with a coffee counter to rival any European café. Lost in the Lanes boasts an intimate bar too, expertly crating spirits and collaborating with local producers, along with a light, botanical feel throughout the space.
Dishes are created in their open kitchen with seasonal produce from local suppliers. Small menus here offer something for everyone, with each dish carefully cooked by chefs. Think beautiful breakfasts, award winning lunches and relaxed dinners with friends in a stylish enclave. There’s lamb Lemonato with rosemary potato, Tartiflette, wild Mushroom Risotto or Ribollita with haricots, tomatoes and greens. Don't worry, you're warmly invited to move on to desserts.
On top of the standard menu, Lost in the Lanes always showcases a moreish (and usually cheffy) special, should something here tickle your taste buds just right. Keeping things nice and simple from dinnertime all the way through to a peaceable lunch hour, the drinks list is quality. Fresh, and seasonal, which pretty much sums up the whole experience here.
