Itihaas arrived in Birmingham in 2005, earning critical acclaim for its authentic Indian dishes.

The restaurant has since collected numerous accolades, including the 2007 Cobra Good Curry Award for Best UK Restaurant and the 2012 British Curry Award for Best Restaurant in the Midlands. Its food is uncompromisingly Indian, with a touch of modernity that creates memorable dining experiences for every guest.

Beloved by locals, Itihaas has retained its legendary status by blending traditional techniques with authentic flavours. The menu showcases an exceptional selection of Indian dishes. Begin with crisp pastry discs topped with chickpeas and potatoes, finished with yoghurt and tamarind chutney, or a spiced potato patty served with garam masala chickpeas and cool yoghurt.

For mains, the laal mirchi rogan josh is a must-try: slow-cooked in a fiery onion and tomato gravy, garnished with parsley. The makhani murgh is another standout, featuring tender clay oven–baked chicken blended into a smoky tomato sauce enriched with cream and yoghurt.

After nearly two decades in the game, Itihaas remains an expert destination for everything from casual dinners to special occasions.
