In Bath City Centre, Osteria Partenopea brings the warmth of a family-style osteria to the city’s historic heart.

Behind its doors and through to a hidden courtyard garden, Chef Valeria and Chef Costantino cook with the generosity of Napoli, uniting two families around a shared love of food and hospitality. It's the kind of place where conversation hums, laughter flows and arrivals are met as though returning friends.

The cooking favours simple, well-loved combinations, letting good ingredients do the talking. Bowls of mixed olives with garlic and herbs, alongside crunchy almonds with rosemary, set the tone. From there, think mussels gently steamed with garlic and herbs, and the evergreen trio of mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, all framed for sharing.

Plates move from comforting to celebratory: traditional lasagna with meat and sauce, a seafood pasta that speaks of the coast, and an aubergine dish layered with cheese and tomato alongside a handsome t-bone steak.

Accompaniments feature oven-baked potatoes and a mixed salad, while little diners are looked after with penne in tomato sauce or simply butter and cheese. To finish, a classic Italian dessert or sweet ricotta with pears provides a softly sweet close.

Whether seated inside or out in the courtyard garden, it invites lingering, laughter and good eating. Book a table, bring your favourites, and let Napoli’s warmth find them in Bath.
