dinner

Baba's Mezze is a kitchen guided by memory as much as method: meals as ritual, tables as gathering places, and flavours that speak of home.

It is the story of two friends, both named Ben. One Persian, the other Greek, both united by a love of food and the long, generous traditions of the Middle East and Mediterranean.

The meal begins in the sharing spirit of mezze. Think hum of tahini and sumac over silken hummus, smoke curling through baba ganouj and the comforting warmth of mirza ghasemi. Then the fire takes the lead: koobideh kabab arrives juicy and peppered, while saffron-bright jujeh kabab brings citrus and sunshine to the plate, with Persian breads and fragrant saffron rice close at hand.

Heftier dishes carry the soul of Persian cookery. Zereshk polo ba morgh balances tender chicken with barberries’ tart sparkle, and gheimeh bademjoon delivers lamb and aubergine in a spiced, slow-cooked embrace.

Welcoming and unhurried, Baba’s Mezze invites guests to linger, share, and savour. At Baba’s, the best stories are told one plate at a time.
