A stone’s throw from the iconic Pulteney Bridge, Antica brings the warmth of an Italian home to Bath’s city centre.

Rooted in a story of family, it champions honest cooking and the kind of hospitality that makes a first visit feel like a return. The room carries an elegant, unforced charm; the sort that invites conversation to linger while glasses catch the light.

The kitchen roams Italy’s culinary landscapes with hand-rolled pastas, wood-fired pizzas and a palette of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Early notes set the tone: bruschetta calabrese layered with peppers, gorgonzola and a flicker of ’nduja, or capesante, hand-dived Cornish scallops bathed in lobster bisque.

From there, comfort and brio trade places: rigatoni bolognese for slow-cooked depth, and linguine ai frutti di mare with white wine, chilli and cherry tomatoes for seaside sparkle. Pizzas arrive with blistered crusts; the margherita is a study in purity, while Vesuvio turns up the heat with spicy salami, gorgonzola and ’nduja.

Slip into a seat, let the stories of Italy unfold, and twirl into the evening. Buon appetito, Bath.
