In the heart of Spinningfields, Thaikhun offers a vivid window into Thailand.

An open kitchen and lively bar set the pace, while hand-picked Thai bric-a-brac evokes the bustle of Bangkok’s bazaars. The effect is transportive: a colourful, convivial space that channels the energy of Khao San Road yet remains a relaxed refuge from the city outside.

On the plate, the cooking leans into Thailand’s thrilling balance of heat, brightness and depth. Wok-fired favourites bring the snap of chilli and Thai basil or the warmth of garlic and black pepper, while aromatic curries, from red to green, deliver silky comfort with a fragrant kick. Noodles tumble from the wok in familiar forms like pad thai and street noodles, and jasmine or sticky rice waits to soak up every last drop.

The mood is sociable and spirited. Sharing platters such as Bangkok street and Thaikhun invite a little table theatre, loaded with the likes of satay, fishcakes, papaya salad and crisp salt and pepper squid. Thai-inspired cocktails keep the conversation flowing, rounding out an experience that feels both authentic and joyfully modern.

Ready to wander Bangkok’s streets without leaving Manchester? Book a table, bring your appetite, and let Thaikhun do the rest.
