In Chiswick, West London, TORTHAI Chiswick brings a bright, aromatic sweep of Thai cooking to the neighbourhood. The kitchen leans into comfort and clarity of flavour: crisp bites to start, broths that sing with citrus and heat, and curries that balance coconut richness with herb-laced freshness. It is food designed for easy pleasure and generous sharing, whether a quick midweek supper or an unhurried catch-up.

Small plates set the tone: chicken gyoza with cabbage and carrot ready for a dip in sweet soya, and prawn tempura in a panko coat with sweet chilli on the side. Then come the soups — tom kha chicken, a silky coconut number scented with galanga and lemon grass, and tom yum prawns, a spicy and sour classic bright with lemongrass, mushrooms and a lick of chilli oil.

From the wok and pot, expect favourites done with care. Vegan green curry and vegan panang curry fold tofu and vegetables into fragrant sauces; a garlic and black pepper chicken stir-fry hits with savoury depth; and chicken cashew brings that moreish nutty crunch with onion and mushroom. Gather your crew, bring an appetite, and let the spice, crunch and slurp do the talking
