A lavish tribute to the English countryside, The Fat Badger is another showstopper from the Gladwin Brothers. A short walk from Richmond Hill, this eatery whisks diners away to the open, gentle landscapes that make Britain so special.

Leave the noise of the city for a jaunt in the meadows. Bringing a whole lot of glamour to the farmhouse aesthetic, The Fat Badger's midnight blue dining room is a vision with black marble tabletops, glossy oak wood floors, flora and fauna decorating every wall and furnishings that elegantly merge the trappings of the city with the innate beauty of the country. A stylish bistro that boasts an airy spaciousness that most Londoners crave, it's the perfect antidote to the comings and goings of everyday life.

And what's a country escape without a long and lazy supper? Thanks to a delicious variety of small plates and starters, you won't be going anywhere any time soon. Dine and recline with some Maldon Rock oysters, an exquisite smoked whipped cod roe or a selection of Cobble Lane's cured meats. This is where classic English ingredients meet culinary innovation, resulting in unique plates like their tempura chicken hearts, malted braised pig cheeks and pan-fried scallops with black pudding.

For mains, the British countryside keeps on giving. The most tender fallow deer can be found with a red cabbage puree, a celeriac schnitzel drizzled with bitter rocket pesto and a cotechino with a rich red wine stew. Bulk up your supper with a mountain of charred cabbage or a biodynamic green leaf salad before you tackle the salted caramel chocolate torte. Served with some brandy-soaked grapes on the side, this is the grown-up way to enjoy unadulterated decadence and well worth coming out of hibernation for.
