They're excited to welcome Barang to the fold for a six-week residency that is sure to leave a lasting mark. Tom Geoffery is the brains and tastebuds behind this unique pop-up and is serving up treats from Cambodian barbecue and Khmer cuisine. Not a food offering you see often, Barang is putting this lesser-known cuisine on the map, and all in an unbelievably stylish setting. Indeed, South London Louie speaks of creative innovation with its pared-back interior and artistic flare. It has to be one of the coolest spots in Peckham.
The menu doesn't hold back and aims to tantalise every sense with bold flavours and beautiful presentation. Starters set the mood straight away with BBQ oyster mushrooms and scallops whilst goat rib can be found perfectly smoked and tender with a chilli relish. Pair these delights with a pear and lemongrass salad for a fresh-meets-salty flavour explosion.
Bigger plates up the anti even further when it comes to flavour. The fishy goodness of clams meet tamarind, ginger and Thai basil; smoked pork jowl is simmered in a kampot curry; and BBQ Denver steak can be found with a prahok and green herb dipping sauce. So, catch Barang whilst you can! They (sadly) won't be here forever.
