Already a hit in various London suburbs, Brother Marcus is now opening its doors in Borough Yards. Housed in a beautiful, historic building, this eatery exudes a certain kind of exclusivity the minute you see it across the road, its pristine glass doors peeking out from the gorgeous brickwork. Inside, a contemporary bistro awaits, garlanded with leafy greens, glowing lanterns and twinkly lights. A Mediterranean tribute with plenty of pop, Brother Marcus is a joy to behold.

The brunch menu is an excellent reason to jump out of bed in the morning. Going far beyond the basic bacon and eggs, start your day right with some smoky shakshuka with fluffy pita, a baked omelette with all the fillings and their range of full brekkies for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike.

As the day moves on, make it yours with a selection of mezze. These small plates are resplendent, accommodating anything from scallops in anchovy butter, marinated seabass, kataifi lamb croquettes and an intriguing rhubarb falafel.
