Italian cooking in its freshest, simplest form, La Nonna is a taste of the Italian family kitchen in the heart of Brixton.

They're located specifically in Market Row, a fun and happening corner of Brixton. Upon arrival at La Nonna, you might think you've stumbled across a very trendy concept store with its whitewashed exterior and bright green accents, but this is just La Nonna's inner city vibe. Inside it's preppy and streamlined with rosy pink hues, illuminated further with the daylight that seeps through and the stylish, contemporary accessories.

The restaurant itself might be the height of modernity, but the menu rolls it right back to Italiana rustica with traditional dishes that have stood the test of time. Fresh pasta forms the baseline of La Nonna suppers, with gems like spaghetti carbonara, pappardelle ragu and mushroom tagliatelle enticing diners to skip to cheat day and indulge.

When it comes to dolci, La Nonna also doesn't do half measures and goes all in with signature tiramisu, a sponge cake generously soaked in rum syrup, and a wonderful selection of gelato that satiates the sweet tooth within us all. Home-cooked Italian eats don't get much better than this.
