Walk through the doors of Le Bab in Battersea, and you’ll sense the essence of its all-day dining menu before you’ve even chosen a seat.
And then there’s the design: British oak, hand-pounded leather banquettes, and floors crafted from Victorian-era railway station tiles. Le Bab Battersea sets itself apart, housed within the iconic Battersea Power Station, with an interior as striking as the views it affords over Chelsea and the River Thames.
The state-of-the-art charcoal kebab grill will be in full swing, smoke billowing, customers huddled around tables, enjoying the sounds, sights and aromas of Turkish-inspired cooking.
The restaurant takes a local and sustainable approach to its ingredients. Think original kebabs like grilled sirloin steak with pickled cabbage and fondue sauce. Or a bowl of free-range chicken shish on a bed of quinoa, butternut squash and hummus.
They also offer sharing plates, from loaded double-cooked fries with ox cheeks to creamy hummus drizzled with a rich peanut curry pesto. Of course, being a Battersea must-have, there are vegetarian options too, like the signature paneer kebab on beetroot and coconut.
Expect the finest organic and free-range fare, fully traceable from farm to fork, and not a dedicated barbecuer (or shawarma lover, for that matter) out there could resist.
