Jumbi

Jumbi brings a vibrant slice of Peckham’s spirit to South East London, a hi-fi music bar and restaurant that celebrates the sounds and flavours of the African-Caribbean diaspora. The room thrums with energy: a culturally rich space where rhythm sets the tone and the kitchen answers with smoke, heat and sunshine-bright notes.

On the plate, the lineage is unmistakable. Jerk chicken arrives after a 48-hour marinade, smoked low on a jerk drum. Honey jerk chicken wings balance sweet and spicy with effortless charm, while garlic butter pepper prawns pick up a lick of chilli for a lively finish. For a coastal twist, jerk BBQ salmon is lifted by mango salsa and a jerk aioli drizzle, a duet of tropical brightness and gentle fire.

Comforting staples anchor the feast, rice and peas for soul and sustenance, fried plantain with Scotch bonnet jam for caramelised sweetness and a teasing kick. To close, brownie cheesecake with Caribbean spiced cream leans indulgent, while the coconut red velvet slice keeps things cool, fragrant and just a little nostalgic.

A lively social hub with high-fidelity sound and generous hospitality, Jumbi is made for sharing plates, easy laughter and long evenings. Gather the crew, bring an appetite and let the good times roll, turn up for supper, stay for the dance post 10pm on Friday, Saturday.

Please note, the restaurant space has a no dog policy.
